BISHOP MAHIAINI ACADEMY

UPPER-PRMARY

Grade 4-6

The Upper Primary Section at Bishop Mahiaini Academy marks an exciting stage in every learner’s educational journey. Covering Grades 4 to 6 under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), this section builds upon the strong foundation established in the early years by developing independent thinkers, effective communicators, and responsible young leaders. Our learners are guided by a team of experienced, passionate, and highly qualified teachers who are committed to nurturing every child’s academic potential while fostering creativity, innovation, and critical thinking. Through learner-centred teaching approaches, we encourage curiosity, collaboration, and problem-solving, preparing learners for a smooth transition into Junior School.

Beyond academic excellence, we emphasize discipline, integrity, leadership, and Christian values. Under the guidance of the Upper Primary Coordinator and dedicated teaching staff, learners are mentored to become confident, responsible, and self-driven individuals who demonstrate respect for themselves and others.

At Bishop Mahiaini Academy, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Upper Primary learners are encouraged to discover and develop their talents through a vibrant co-curricular programme that promotes confidence, teamwork, leadership, and innovation.

Activities

BMA understands that all work with no play makes Jack a dull boy, and because of this, the school allocates time for clubs, games, music and drama for these pupils. The games include football, basketball, handball and lawn tennis. The playground has been accurately marked and well equipped to facilitate these games. Any equipment needed for facilitation of these games is provided by the school. This helps to raise pupils who are all rounded. The teachers also take part in the sports while coordinating the pupils.
